The Little Children and Jesus Luke 18: 15-17 NIV 15People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. 16But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."
This when finished will be for a church installation. The children will be mounted on a pedestal base behind an old church pew as if they were looking over the back of the pew in the church proper. Another child will be added before it is done, an Hispanic girl. When finished they will be finished in a bronze patina. |

Persistence symbolizes the path that I encountered along the way my goal. Her chin is stead fast, held up against any forces that try to beat her down. Persisence is now in the process of being reclaimed for the next phase of my life... The next sculpture is undetermined....

Emergence is my first attempt at the human form. THIS IS A VERY EARLY PICTURE, and she did end up looking quite human! She symbolizes my emergence in the art arena professionally. Her mouth is open, as a swimmer coming up gasping for air or as a new born baby after a total immersion baptism does... breathing new life for the first time. Emergence was later busted up and the clay reclaimed to make Persistence. |
