This last year we had grandma test them and her reports were all positive! Last summer she tested them with a planter on her South East side of her house. It was a dry hot summer. She reported that she only watered the planter twice, The rain helped out a bit, but the stones did most of the work, keeping that precious water inside the pot and greatly reduced evaporation.

 Now that it is winter (in Minnesota), the outdoor plant was pulled inside where it is thriving with low water usage.
